The College of Education at William Paterson University designs an annual conference for K‐12 teachers and learners interested in educational technology. The Conference is a hands‐on and collaborative experience to explore new technologies that are appropriate for educators. The 2011 Conference held on December 9, Effectively Incorporating Technology into Subject Matter, helped participants learn technology skills and create lessons and projects that have a practical application in New Jersey schools and with the State’s diverse student population.

Karen Hilberg, associate director of William Paterson University Recreational Services, organized the annual holiday hike through New York City’s historic Central Park and Fifth Avenue on Sunday, December 4, 2011. The hike included the bazaars in Columbus Circle and Bryant Park, famous Central Park sites: Strawberry Fields, the Lake at Peebler Point, Belvedere Castle, the Obelisk, and the Alice in Wonderland sculpture by Spanish-American sculptor José de Creeft. Also included in the day’s activities were visits to the Plaza Hotel, the holiday windows on Fifth Avenue, and the tree at Rockefeller Plaza.

William Paterson University’s National Sales Challenge: Students from Edinburgh, Scotland and Zwolle, The Netherlands, joined students from 18 states to participate in William Paterson University’s National Sales Challenge, an intense series of selling competitions and workshops that were held at the Cotsakos College of Business on the University’s campus in Wayne, N.J., November 9 to 11, 2011.
The competition was designed by the University’s Russ Berrie Institute for Professional Sales to strengthen the students’ sales skills and offer them an opportunity to network with business executives from companies around the country who judged the events and served as sponsors.

Kristen Evangelista, William Paterson University Galleries Director, talks about the current Chinese Art exhibition with anchor Kelly Moran on WPTV.
The exhibition marks the first time that these drawings, created over a span of six decades from 1950 to 2009, have been shown in the United States.
Nearly 100 contemporary drawings from the collection of China’s Central Academy of Fine Arts, the only art academy of higher learning governed by the country’s Ministry of Education, will be on view in an exhibition from October 24 through December 2, 2011, in the University Galleries located in Ben Shahn Hall on campus. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free.

As part of William Paterson University’s commitment to beautify the campus, volunteers planted daffodil bulbs on Thursday, October 13. The bulbs, which reach full bloom in the spring, were planted at twelve locations along the main promenade from Parking Lot 5 to Raubinger and Morrison Halls.
