WPU Celebrates Earth Day with the 2nd Annual Green A-Fair.
Hugh Carola, Program Director speaks about the mission of Hackensack Riverkeeper and that of the Waterkeeper movement in general. Founded in 1997 by Captain Bill Sheehan, the Riverkeeper is the leading environmental organization working on Hackensack River issues. Through its multilevel strategy of advocacy, education, active conservation and litigation, the organization works to ensure a clean, green future for everyone and everything that calls the Hackensack River Watershed home.

WPU Celebrates Earth Day with the 2nd Annual Green A-Fair. The Bear Group gives an informative presentation about bear behavior and what residents can do to protect both themselves and these beautiful animals. Also distributed were various pieces of literature that explain how humans and black bears can peacefully coexist. The presentation cited the work of world renowned bear expert Dr. Lynn Rogers, PhD. Of the North American Bear Center in Ely, Minnesota.
