Ariana Grande

www.justjaredjr.com

Ariana Grande is a Nickelodeon television show star from the teenage show, Victorious. She is known for her role as Cat Valentine, or at least that is how I knew and heard of her. She, in my opinion,  is extremely pretty and adorable. I personally think she was a great actress, very funny and entertaining to watch. She is also known for uploading videos of her on YouTube of her quite amazing singing. She actually has a new single out called, “The Way” featuring Mac Miller, who by the way I am not a fan of whatsoever. But I must admit I am a huge fan of this song, in matter of fact I absolutely love this song! When I first heard this song I seriously thought it was Mariah Carey singing because her voice sounds so much like hers!! Also because she was hitting the high notes like no one other than Mariah hits. The song is soo catchy and is definitely the perfect song for the summer season. It makes me want to get up from my seat and dance. Because she is a young girl this song is definitely for the younger generations and maybe even mine. But this song is definitely the song of the moment and I am in total love with it. My only negative in this song is the fact that Mac miller is on this song. I absolutely do not like him in any shape or form and I feel that Ariana could have gotten a better rapper like Machine Gun Kelly, or Lupe Fiasco whom I am such a big fan of. Other than that this song is absolutely brilliant.

FANDANGO!!!!!!!

www.wwe.com

WWE’s Superstar Fandango has taken the iTunes charts by storm. According to the WWE, his entrance song is number two in the UK and number three in the United States as reported on Monday Night Raw. I must say his music is quite catchy! I even found myself humming the beat to his song after his entrance. This whole fiasco with everybody humming and dancing to his music actually occurred last week on Monday night raw at the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, NJ.  Gotta love the Jersey people for starting this trend! His song is getting really famous; it won’t be surprising if it’s the new Harlem shake.  Newscasters were dancing to it, as well as people from the street in the city, in bars, and all over the world! If you do not know this song by now you definitely will soon.

Fandango’s song in my opinion has bit of a salsa dancing as he always comes out dancing with a beautiful woman.  He looks like he can be one of the professional dancers from Dancing with the Stars because he is pretty good actually. He dances his way throughoutthe whole entrance and has the audience on their feet dancing and humming to beat (since there are no words). If you haven’t heard it yet, here’s a link to
the YouTube channel where you can see and hear his entrance.

Wrestlemania 29

www.wwe.com

This past sunday I had tickets to go to Wrestlemania 29 at MetLife Stadium. Wrestlemania is like the superbowl for the WWE, my younger brother is such a huge fan so I decided to take him. I am also a fan, I grew up watching them so they are a huge part of my childhood.  Usually every year they have a musician playing or singing, this year’s theme for Wrestlemania was “Coming Home” and Diddy was the performer for this event. He performed a medley of his old classics that had me up from my seat and dancing, he then performed the theme of the event his hit song, “Coming Home.” I am not sure if the song fit exactly to the wrestlemania stage but nevertheless it was a good peformance and had everybody on their feet.

www.thesource.com

Also Cm Punk’s entrance song was performed live by Living Colours. they performed my favorite entrance song, “Cult of Personality.” This was also a great performance by them, the whole stadium was shaking. Not to mention Punk vs. Taker was the best match of the night. So this entrance music was icing on the cake. Overall Wrestlemania 29 was a blast and I am so lucky I was able to be a part of it.

Top 3 Singers

www.washingtonpost.com

This week I am going to be blogging about my favorite five singers of all time.  I chose these five specific singers because most of them are older and not current. I think over the years that music has changed so much, at times for the better and at time for the worse. For example, nowadays, everybody seems to have an album even when their vocals do not come close to some real artists and vocalists. For example, Paris Hilton has had an album. Can you believe that???? She in no way shape or form is a singer yet she has an album. In today’s world it feels it’s all about the money and not the true passion of music. It’s quite unfortunate! On a better not here are my favorite three singers:

onlyhdwallpapers.com

  1. Mariah Carey: Growing up to her music makes me realize how lucky and fortunate I was to be born in that generation. In my opinion there is no one out there that
compares to her. Her voice is so unique, soulful, and so beautiful. Her music
has changed my life and I’m grateful and thankful for her talent.
  2. Michael Jackson: Some may say that MJ is much better than Mariah, but I didn’t get to really jump into his music until I got older which of course I fell in love with. His voice was also so unique, in matter of fact my favorite days of his was when he was in The Jackson Five group. His voice was so pure and innocent.
  3. Whitney Houston: Despite her personal problems, Whitney had an amazing voice. No one canever sing her songs the way she did. It’s unfortunate how her life was cutshort but at least we have some great memories of her through her songs.

UK Artists

www.fanpop.com

The UK musicians are taking over THE MUSIC WORLD NOW!  Artists like “Adele,” the boy-band “One Direction”, “Emeli Sande,” the girl-band, and “The Saturdays” are
extremely talented singers and are slowly capturing the world’s attention. Anyone who doesn’t know Adele must be living underneath a rock, because there is not one person I came across that doesn’t know who Adele is. Adele took over the world the past two years wither amazing heartfelt songs about a broken heart. I think what differentiated Adele from other singers is her voice is so unique and her lyrics are so real that everybody can relate to. My favorite song from Adele, is “One and Only,” check it out if you get the chance! Emeli Sande is a new British artist whose vocal ability is out of this world!!!!!! My current favorite song of her right now is “Next To Me” she is good and she in my opinion has bigger pipes than Adele.

ONE DIRECTION!!!!!!!! Is probably the biggest band in the world right now! They remind me so much of my childhood boy bands, Backstreet Boys, N’SYNC, Hansen, Boys II Men, and much more. I am actually very happy that this generation has a band like One Direction that they are completely obsessed with like how we used to be. Not to mention their music is quite amazing!  The Saturdays remind me of the Spice Girl’s, they are five British girls that are killing it right now in UK and I know it won’t be long till they will be all over the U.S, much like the Spice Girls.

Taylor Swift’s New Single 22

www.musiclyricsmp3.org

Finally Ms. Swift has released an uplifting
song that makes you want to get up and dance. Honestly, I used to be the biggest
Taylor Swift fan; she captured me in with her very popular song, “Love Story,” which
still to today is one of my favorite. I think Taylor is very beautiful and even though her dating list is quite long, she’s quite the role model. In all honestly we’ve never
really heard of her doing anything bad, she doesn’t go clubbing till six in the
morning and gets completely drunk, that’s that the type of person she is not. She
just needs to keep her relationships a little bit more private because she is getting
a little heat for how many boyfriends she’s had in past two or three years,
which is like a crazy number like 15!!!

www.graziadaily.co.uk

Her songs are usually about her heartbreak and
how they all broke her heart, the usual. Until now her new single 22, is quite
catchy and exciting. It’s a song about how good happy and carefree she feels at
the age of 22. My first verse is my favorite because it talks about her just going
out and having a good time with her friends, while meeting new friends, don’t believe
me? Take a look for yourself; this is Taylor Swift’s first verse of 22:

“It feels like a perfect night to dress up like hipsters And make fun of our exes, uh uh uh uh It feels like a perfect night for breakfast at midnight To fall in love with strangers uh uh uh uh Yeaaaah We’re happy free confused and lonely at the same time It’s miserable and magical oh yeah Tonight’s the night when we forget about the deadlines, it’s time uh uh”

I am extremely excited for Taylor and I hope
this song reaches 1 on the billboard charts; right now the song is at number
64. But I have a feeling it won’t be there for too long.

America’s Singing Competitions

www.people.com -

Singers and artists now have a lot more and bigger opportunities to show off to the world their unique and talented voices. With so many singing competitions that are televised nowadays, it’s hard to not watch at least one. American Idol was the first
singing competition that captured America’s attention and for a while it was the
best singing competition in America. American Idol portrayed the definition of
the American dream. It gave the normalest (Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood) or
in some cases the unusualest (William Hung) people fame, fortune, and dream to
become a recording singer. American Idol also allowed us to connect, agree, and
disagree with the very famous judges; the original ones were Simon Cowell,
Paula Abdul, and Randy Jackson. Over the years the judges have changed we’ve
had Ellen DeGeneres, who I absolutely love, Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler
(Love), Kara DioGardi, and now the current judges Keith Urban, Nikki Minaj, Randy
Jackson, and the most talented and amazing of them all is Mrs. Mariah Carey.
Over the years I have felt that this show isn’t as interesting as it once was
so I don’t watch it religiously as I once used to. After a few seasons I felt
that the show was getting boring and the judges weren’t as nearly as attracting
and interesting as my favorite singing competition show, “The Voice.” I love
the show for numerous reasons: 1) I love the judges, Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green,
Christina Aguilera, and Blake Shelton. 2) I love the fact the judges fight for
the contestants. 3) I enjoy the different rounds, (battle rounds and steals).

thatgrapejuice.net

X-factor I enjoyed the first season but the second season was okay I was not too fond of Demi Lovato and Britney Spears. Honesty I thought they sucked as judges. I don’t really consider Britney as a real true singer, she doesn’t compare to Aguilera’s voice or Mariah’s. In my opinion she’s just famous because she had good writers that wrote catchy and good songs for her.

So that’s my recap on the competition shows, let me know what you guys think????

Country Music

www.musicnfilms.com

This week I am choosing to blog amount country music, a lot of
people do not love country music for reasons, such as this is hillbilly music, it’s
weird, all the songs sound alike but in reality that is all not true. Especially
nowadays country music has become somewhat pop. We have Carrie Underwood,
Taylor Swift, and even Kelly Clarkson has hit the country side of town. The songs
are extremely different from one another and the lyrics are amazing. I admit
once upon a time I never ever would listen to country, in matter of fact I would
cringe at the sound of it. But as I got older and I discovered a few good
country songs that pulled me into the genre I realized I was completely wrong. Country
songs have this “real” thing in it. It’s not silly songs like “Boom Boom Pow,” by
the Black Eye Peas, which y the way I am not criticizing I happen to love that
song. But that song’s lyrics are not honest, true, and real, I cannot relate to
that song unless I relate it to wanting to dance. Country music has this
amazing soul a heart about it that at times makes me wants to cry or laugh. The
lyrics of country song pull me in so much that I wish I was a country girl from
down south just to say that I am truly apart of the country music world. If you
don’t believe here are a few songs that might change your mind.

From Music to Life

Music can teach, preach, emphasize, relate, and even remind us of the important things in life, things that we were taught to do when we were even in Kindergarten. Music can take you to places where nothing else can take you. At times lyrics, rhythm, and melody can have such an effect on you, it can actually move you, and I know at times there
are many songs that send shivers up and down my body. Lyrics are what I believe
that capture a person and make them realize and remember the significant aspects of life.

www.globalpost.com

Take the great late Michael Jackson (MJ) for example, his songs emphasized the simple rules that we were taught in kindergarten. His songs, We are the World, Earth Song, Heal the World remind us to love, cherish, appreciate, protect, and respect our world. Robert Fulghum’s, All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten, stated
a few rules that we were taught in Kindergarten:

  1. Share everything.
  2. Play fair.
  3. Don’t hit people.
  4. Put things back where you found them.
  5. Clean up your own mess.
  6. Don’t take things that aren’t yours.
  7. Say you’re sorry when you hurt somebody.
  8. When you go out into the world, watch out for traffic, hold hands,
    and stick together.

” (Fulghum 2003)

These simple rules still apply to us as adults today and music helps emphasize and keep it in the back of our mind, with a catchy phrase, or deep lyrics. Lyrics such as, “Did you ever stop to notice the crying Earth the weeping shores?” or “Did you ever stop to notice, All the children dead from war?” – Earth Song –MJ. I know my most emotional song of Michael Jackson is hearing the first few seconds of Man in Mirror, something about that beat, rhythm, and melody that throws me over the edge, every time I hear it I get goose bumps. I think I am so connected to this song because the lyrics are just extremely real. “If you want make the world a better place, take a look at yourself then make that change.” Songs like this that bring us back to our kindergarten rules and
remind us that these weren’t just rules, those rules were the basic guide to living a good happy life. Even Jessie J’s Price Tag song, “It’s not about the money, money, money, we don’t need your money, money, money, we just want to make the world dance, forget about the price tag.” Music like this is what brings back the humanity in us.

My Favorite Five Performaces:

5. Taylor Swift- started off the show with a performace of her hot single, “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.” Absolutely loved it! Taylor did amazing as always!

4. Ed Sheeron and Elton John Performing “A-Team”, was such a moving and beautiful performace. They were both so great and their voices blended so well together!

3. Maroon 5 and Alicia keys performing, “Daylight” and “Girl on Fire.” i thought this was a genius duo. Since I love both so much this easily made my top 5 list. Both performaces were so cool, and fun to watch.

2. Rihanna and Mikky Ekko performed thier latest hit “Stay.” Although I am not a big fan of Rihanna, I cannot deny pure talent, their performace was so astonishing. This song is so beautiful too, so as much as I dislike her, l cant help but love this song! She also looked very beautiful as did Mikky Ekko.

1. My number one favorite performace goes to Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z. They performed “Suit and Tie.” Other than the fact the JT looked absolutely gorgeous his performance was so energetic and filled with so much dancing and his voice is so breathtaking especially when he falls to that falsetto. Jay-Z just put the cherry on top for me because I am huge fan of both so I was so excited to see him perform with JT. Easily my favorite performace!
